I have had this diagnosis several times. At first it freaked me out, then after sharing it with some of my friends, I found it is not that uncommon. After waiting (my doc waits 6 months) 6 months for a follow-up, it ends up going away. They said it can be caused by simple bacteria. They also said that as long as I keep on top of my paps EVERY YEAR (which I do) to not worry because IF anything was wrong, they would be able to catch it. Again, myself as well as women in my family AND friends, this has happened to and it ends up clearing up. BUT, just make sure you get annual check-ups.
