I would call a carpet cleaning company and explain the situation. I'm sure they have some kind of sanatizing cleaner that will do the trick or rent a carpet cleaner and do it your self. I would add an color safe bleach to the carpet cleaning solution to sanatize it yourself. Replacing carpet can be very costly. Good Luck. Karen W.
