I have MS and Crohn's disease as well as other disorders. I always get a flu shot and have heard that this is going to be a particularly bad season for the flu. I've never had a reaction nor has anybody else in my family. Now that the live virus is no longer used in the flu vaccine its impossible to get the flu from the shot. When the live virus was used some people who had the shot contracted the flu, but had a milder version of it. I have heard from people that claim they had the flu from the flu shot, but there has to be other reasons they got it. They may have already been coming down with the flu before they had the shot or it could be a different strain than that shot covered that year or a myriad of other reasons, but it is impossible to get the flu from the shot.
