The epidurals are not a cure, but they sure can relieve the pain when it is unbearable. I also do not like needles, but in the last year and a half, I have had 4 epidurals and one facet injection. Only 3 out of five were successful and lasted for several months. Unfortunately, my back has not gotten better over time and I am now having surgery in 2 days. I am very scared but the surgeon says I have one very bad disk so my surgery should be successful. I hope so! I've tried everything and its been getting worse for the past two years. Good luck to you!
