I am 27. I was born with spina bifida. I didn't seem to have too many problems until the onset of adulthood. I had the untethering cord surgery in 1997 and it has re-tethered. (looks like I need surgery again) I also have a spinal cord tumor that can't be fully removed becuase it is part of the spinal cord that I got before I was born. As I greww, it grew. They've tried to reduce the size of it. So far I have been very lucky. A neurogenic bladder developed this year and when I had a ct scan it showed the re-tethering of the cord. Anyway just wanted you to know you're not alone with this problem.
