Hi there! New to the board and I am going through issues regarding hep b. This all started in 95 during a routine Dr appointment. Elevated liver results led to a hep B test which led to these two test results. first test 95 HepB Surface Ab negative HepB Core Ab reactive After that I was told that I had been infected and cleared Hep B second test in 96 HepB Surface Ab negative HepB Surface Ag negative After that again I was told that I was not infectuous and had cleared the infection. I moved on with my life thinking hey I had it but it is gone Fast forward to 2004. My new doctor wants to test me again. HepB surface antigen negative HepB core Igm antibody negative This doctor told me that I never had the disease that the original core test was a false positive. Fast forward to 2006 when my wife and I are going through some infertility issues. HepB surface Ab negative HepB Core (total) Ab reactive HepB Core Igm Ab negative Now this third doctor is telling me that I could be a chronic carrier! I have had the blood tests repeated and will see a GI hep specialist. Note my most recent retests with my third doctor are: HepB surface Ab negative HepB Core (total) Ab reactive HepB Core Igm Ab negative All my research seems to point to a false postive. Can anyone shed any light on these test? Thanks so much
