I am 28 years old and have alopecia areata. I have seen many different types of physicians trying to find an answer. Consult with a dermatologist in your area. There are several different treatments. Like anything else the results will vary from person to person. I had alot of success with cortizone injections when I was first diagnosed age 10. I've been suffering from it again since 2/17/96. I lost about 85% of my hair. The injections didn't work for me. My body is too used to it. I tried Monoxidil and that also was no help. I finally said last year I will keep looking but as far as research has shown there is no definite cure. Ask your doctor about other topical creams that have been used for this illness.
