I had a partial hysterectomy, and like you, still suffered with IBS, only it really got worse as the years went on. The doctors just told me I was too stressed...their typical answer. Finally after 12 years of pain, I had to have an ovary removed, and I asked the Doctor to please look around and see if there was "scar tissue" present. Sure enough, there was so much tissue that I had three kinks in my small intestine, and everything else was "stuck together" by this tissue. He had a time getting me cleaned up, but before he closed me up, he inserted some newer material that is supposed to help keep that tissue from forming....it worked for me. I felt like a new woman! My Doctor thought I was very fortunate not to have had my intestines rupture...let me tell you, the pain was excruciating at times. But you feel helpless when know one will listen to you. I have heard of other women who have had similar experiences. If you really are having a hard time, ask your doctor about doing a laporscopic procedure at least to take a look...this will not show up on x-rays, scans, etc. Good luck!
