I know exactly how you feel. My doctor misdiagnosed me for approx. 5 years. First he said I was depressed and put me on antideppressants. I certainly didn't need that! Finally after numerous trips and crying sessions at the doctors office pleading that something was wrong, he finally looked into my eyes and saw the papiledema and sent me directly to the hosp. for an MRI. For years I told him I was having approx. 30 episodes of blindness a day. He told me it was optical migraines. I thank god often that all of these years of missdiagnosis didn't cause me to go blind.. I'm on Diamox, but it's not helping much. I feel like my only option is to go blind. My doctor just said, loose weight or you'll probably go blind. I exercise for 40 minutes 5 days a week and diet like a rabbit to no avail. The weight won't budge and I'm feeling desparate. I also wish I had a doctor who seemed even remotely interested my condition and was more hands on in helping me over come this.
