my right ankle stays inflamed on the outside of my leg, about one inch above the ankle bone. i run often, and after doing so, the area becomes even more inflamed. the area does not hurt, yet is stays inflamed. i have recently noticed that the same area on the left leg is beginning to develop some consistant inflamation, yet not as severe as the right leg. Sometimes my ankles will burn during a run. I have been told that if this particular area stays swollen 24-7, then it could be that tissue or tendons are seperating from the anlkle bone. this has been a problem for about six months. Is it possible that this is serious problem even if there is no pain associated?
