I have a friend whose 7 year old son was recently hospitalized because of kidney problems due to a strep virus (not strep throat). He had no symptoms of the original virus and did not know there was a problem until it had already settled in his kidneys. Does anyone know any information about this virus. Where does it come from? How do you catch it? Is there a way to be tested or some symptoms to look for early on? This little boy has 2 sisters. One of them tested positive as well as the mother. No one has any symptoms. I have a young child myself and am very worried about this.
