I was diagnostised with sarcoidosis five years ago.It was a complicated one as I had problems with my lungs, with my eyes (no more tears and vision problem) but also with my skin (no sensation on the skin of my belly, thighs) and no possibility of eating by myself as my trachea was not working. They discover that the sarcoidosis has reached the back of my brain (rachidian bulb, sorry for the translation I don't know the word in English, may be cerebellum)as well as my lungs. At that time, they didn't know exactly what caused this illness (could be a bacteria,a virus or even an autoimmune probleme). What you should ask is if they fear several episodes(chronical disease) or just one. Since I had mine, I never had it again and I had totally recovered on a corticoid therapy.
