I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease last year. I am an R.N. and work in an I.C.U. I lost my job because I would have spontaneous vertigo spells at work. It came to the point that I was dizzy 24 hours a day and having vertigo spells. Unable to drive or leave the house I felt hopeless. My doctors offered me surgery but the two associates had conflicting opinions on which one offered that best outcome. Still both doctors only gave me a 25-50% chance of recovery with an 8% chance of total hearing loss. A friend asked me if I ever thought of trying acupuncture. I thought I would give it a chance before trying a surgical procedure. I was lead to a doctor that peformed research on dizziness and Meniere's in China. She gave me a 80-90% chance of full recovery. Within three sessions my dizziness was improved and I had gone 10 days without a vertigo spell. After 6 sessions I had very mild dizziness and starting driving again. Finishing the cycle with 12 sessions I had no dizziness and no vertigo for weeks. I am now fully recovered, back to work and free of any symptoms at all. It has been months since my last vertigo spell!!!
