Hi, After your letter on HealthlinkUSA I would say to you to get a second opinion and maybe a third. I am not a doc so I can't say it is or is not bursitis. But if you have other symptoms like extreme fatigue, memory problems and a list of many more, you may be suffering from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrone. These two syndromes are exptrmely difficult to diagnose. I've been to about ten to fifteen doctors and I have had three doctors tell me that I have fibromyalgia. Yours sounds like a pain problem only. But still, I would get atleast one or two more opinions. If I were you I would go to a rheumatologist not a GP. Plus I am surprised you doc did try you on any meds for pain first instead of the cortizone shots. I am in evctreme pain all the time and my doc has not suggested cortizone and if he did I would not take it. It is very hard on your bones and your organs. If you are an Internet user get on line. There is a ealth of information out there to benefit everyone. I am on line every single day and have learned a wealth of medical information. One other thing, bursitis is an injury, those areas can heal and you will be like new again. My father had bursitis unfortunately he is dead now. But he did suffer from pain with bursitis for a few years. I hope I helped. J.W.
