HI; I've had dry eyes due to Sjogren's Syndrome for 12 years now. I had the puncta plugged first with temporary plugs and finally permanently cauterized shot. It has been of great benefit for me as whatever tears I do produce (no great number there) do not drain out through the plugs but stay in the eye. I think you will definitely benefit by havng the plugs.
