I have experienced the same problems. Lasik was 12/99. Dry eye didn't get bad until 2/01. I have been going back to doctor every 2-4 wks since then with no major improvement. Hydrotears seem to work best during the day. I use gel at night. I was advised to keep air from air conditioners or fans away from my face due to drying action. I tried temporary plugs - they didn't help at all. I am now using HydroEye that I found over the net. It is not yet FDA approved, so my doctor wouldn't recommend it but nothing else helps much. I think it has given me some improvement but not yet the level I had hoped for. I'm going to continue taking it. I've also discontinued all antihistamines and any other medications that cause drying. It's ironic isn't it? My vision wasn't that bad. I wish I could trade back the dry eye for the old vision.
