I work with individuals with A.S. and can give you several resources. Some states also have special programs that address needs of children with pervasive developmental disorders. What state are you in? There are a number of web sites you can find when searching under Asperger's Syndrome, some good resources are O.A.S.I.S., and www.tonyattwood.com. Good books to have that run about $20.00 are Asperger's Syndrome a Guide for Parents and Professionals author Tony Attwood and Asperger Syndrome and Difficult Moments by Brenda Smith Myles and Jack Southwick. If your child is having a lot of problems with anger or rage I would suggest getting Brenda Smith Myles book first. Let me know if I can be of any other help, this is a special interest of mine. I have been working with folks with autism and AS for 10 years now and will give you whatever guidance I can. There are few doctors or other professionals knowledgeable about AS and it is only recently being recognized. Wishing you the best. You may also try the A.S.P.E.N. the Autism Society of America for other resources.
