I was also making sounds, along with muscle spasms, which everyone (including the VA) thought was nerves. I kept telling them I thought the sounds were muscle spasms, but no one believed me. Then, they changed -- sometimes the sounds came out, and sometimes they went back down my throat -- which seems to follow the "push me-pull you" effect of the adductor/abductor muscle spasms. An increase in Baclofen stopped the noises. If you have been put on Tourettes medicine, as well as dystonia medicine, your medicines could be fighting you and your problems. By the way, the VA can help, but be careful.
