I am 23 years old and have a 6mo. old. Recently I was diagnosed with mild cercival dysplasia. The doctor didn't tell me much so I did my own research over the net. From what I read the virus which is hpv is not curable but it is important to make an appoitment with your Dr. every 6 mo. to make sure everything is ok. There are 3 steps mild, moderate and severe dysplasia. Mild dysplasia usually goes away on it's own but Doctors don't want to take a chance so they either give what is called a laser surgery, cryosurgery and a few others. I had the cryosurgery which is the freezing of the cervix. It didn't hurt but I felt uncomfortable in my lower abdomen, almost like menstral cramps. It goes away within a few minutes after. I'm sure you're doc did a biopsy from you, this determines the condition you have. There are about 6 to 12 layers of cells. The tops layer should have flat round cells. These are called the young cells. In the inner most layer are old cells which are round not flat. If the top layer has young and old cells this is abnormal because the old cells kind of beat up on the young cells and makes the cell all out of line. If you have no more than 3 layers of cells out of whack then you have mild dysplasia, if its more than 3 then it's moderate and so forth. I'm not a doctor or anything but I'm pretty sure that this is how it works. If I were you I would do some research just to assure yourself. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions thats why they're there and are getting paid for.
