My son age 6 got mono-May 1999 he still has it as of December 1999. I have been told it can last up to a year. This can also go into chronic fatigue smydrome. We just found out in November of 1999 my son has a chronic illness which might have been why he got mono. I would suggest getting rechecked and have the doctor keep a close eye on it. My son have swollen glands until just a few months ago. He still has an enlarged spleen and really not eating. Do research on mono and be firm with your doctors, try vitamins to help fight the virus. My son was so tired.
