Dawn
I too was recently diagnosed with DVT. I had to fight to get information from my doctors as well. But I won the fight, and got some answers finally. I was told the more active you are, the better. If you are clotting, it's not in your best interest to lay or sit around because then the blood flow slows down, and has a tendancy to clot. My doctors chief physician/hemotologist/oncologist/internest gave me consent to exercise, but told me not to overdo it. Just exercise in moderation. Your doctor, and your condition may be different so I wouldn't say "yeah go ahead and exercise", but I would say your probably better off than just sitting around. Ask your doctor frankly and demand answers, if you don't get them, write to the head of the hospital where you were treated in question form, forward a copy to your doctor, and ask for answers in a written letter back to you. That's what I did, and boy did they respond quickly. Thrombosis doesn't seem to be an exact science, and it appears to me that everyone dances around the questions, so make sure you log everything to the best of your ability. Good luck, and I hope you have a quick and healthy recovery.
