Do I have a reason to be frustrated??? I am a 42 year OLD male. about three years ago I found I had a hyper-active thyroid, To try and correct that,I Had Radio-Iodine treatment done. After 5-6 months I started feeling bad so I went to my Doc which basically said he didn't know why. I went about 4 times that month with more symptoms with the same response. Finally when I was due for my routine blood check, they found I was extremely Hypo-Thyroid. When I went out on the net, I found the symptoms I was giving to the Doc/s were "Textbook" symptoms for Hypo-Thyroidism. Ever since then my health seemed to suff er. At the time of the "Thyroid crash" I was working out everyday lifting 300lbs of Machine weight and 245lbs of Free weights. Now, I get tired just looking at a weight set. Since then, I have been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, Enlarged prostate, a 20 year old lower back pain flaring up and Carpol Tunnel in BOTH wrists so severe that my arms and hands are useless after about 15-20 minutes of light/mild repetitive use. My ankles and legs swell with water retension if I miss my blood presure meds. And many more aches pains etc... Even after checking myself in to a local Hospital in Melbourne, FL. I came out with no answers until my new Doc discovered I had a severe case of Prostititus and then, The Diabetes. Why could'nt the hospoital figure this stuff out, Why are they charging $1,000 a day?? I know it cant be for the room service. My question is: Could some of these things such as diabetes loss of energy etc be caused by the extreme Hypothyroid that originally occured??? If my (Former) doc would have studied in school and had noticed "Textbook" symptoms the first time and had checked my blood and had caught it before possibly doing other damage to the rest of my system? Do I have the right to be frustrated with this medical community? I guess if nothing else, I feel better just getting that off my chest.
