Once I was diagnoised, I realized that the night driving problems that I experienced were not normal, I had a reason for them. I had shareds this with a number of eye doctors who did not take this further. Ift was by pure accident that I was diagnoised, my regular optomotrist was overbooked and I was seen by his new associate. Sher conducted a peripheral test, which I did not do well on. When the busy optomotrist camea in, I knew there was a problem. Now , I understand why I have the problems with night blindness and bumping into things. Neither of my parents had RP and to the bests of my (and my relatives) knowledge, my grandparents did not have RP either. My retiologist explains my problem as a hit of a bad gene. I hope everybody does take time to eucate people to be more assertive if they are having any type of vision difficulties so a thorough exam can be conducted.
