Hi Roger, well xanthomas typically tend to be different sizes and shapes on different people and I know they generally grow in areas where there are folds or bends in the body. You may have them or get them in various places. As far as treatment goes, I know that if you have and particularly large or uncomfortable growths, you may consider having it removed. As far as xanthomas go, people tend to be self-conscience about them and may be embarrased to wear certain clothing which can reveal them. Anyhow, let me know what kind of treatment you are on and if you are taking medications and please specify your situation. If you are undergoing LDL Apheresis they may reduce in size dramatically and possibly almost completely.Thanx Roger and take care. Eleanor J.
