Dear Gregg: I have rheumatic fever when I was 3, I am now 44. I suffer from joint pain, esp. in knees, elbows, hips. I have been plagued with tendonitis since my early twenties, had carpel tunnel surgery, endless shots of cortisone in various joints, mainly for tennis elbow (I don't play tennis). I just know I should be feeling better generally, I exercise strenuously and regularly, eat well, take supplements; in other words, with all the things I am doing, I should feel like a million bucks. People say I am just getting old. It has been suggested that I get tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis to rule these out. I have a heart murmur but it is barely detectable. Do any of these symptoms sound like yours?
