MY 8 YR OLD DAUGHTER HAS RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH HYPERCALCURIA. THIS WAS DETERMINED AFTER VARIOUS TESTING AFTER MICROSCOPIC BLOOD WAS FOUND IN HER URINE. WE HAVE BEEN TO A PEDIATRIC NEPHROLOGIST WHO ORDERED COMPLETE BLOOD AND URINE ANALYSIS, AND MOST RECENTLY, A 24 HOUR URINE COLLECTION FOR STONES. SHE IS AT THE MAX FOR CALCIUM (2.0) AND ALSO VERY LOW IN CITRATES. IT WAS RECOMMENDED SHE START DRINKING A LOT OF WATER AND BE RETESTED IN 3 MONTHS SINCE THE ONLY OTHER ALTERNATIVE IS MEDICATION 2X A DAY FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE. IF THE PROBLEM GETS WORSE IN 3 MONTHS, WE WILL MEDICATE. ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVES/OPINIONS?
