I wish I could say that there is a treatment, but in my experience there is none but the shunt. I also was diagnosed with this in my 30's. I had a shunt installed and then removed after 6 months because it made all my problems worse. The doctors can't really say why it failed to solve the problem, they just started prescribing all kinds of meds that I couldn't take because of an allergic reaction, plus the side effects were intollerable. I wish I could help.
