one suggestion would be to start with the side that was nursed at second. When a baby begins to nurse he really pulls out the milk on the first side, and then by the time you switch sides the baby is not as hungry so either gets filled up before all the milk on the second side is gone or contentedly falls asleep on the second side before all the milk is gone. So it is best to alternate which side he begins to nurse on and possibly "time" the first side the baby is at to about seven minutes and let him stay on the second side for as long as he/she wants. That way both breasts will continue to produce enough milk. Another way to get more milk produced is to manually express milk from the second side until you are empty. -And freeze the milk in an icecube tray or small milk bottle, which you can use for when you are gone. Hope this helps. I nursed each of my three boys for more than two years.
