My daughter was in the Cook Islands and Figi. She came home feeling horrible. She had a rash all over her legs and stomach. I took her to the doctor that day and was told she had boils. She took some of the antibiotics she was given but did not finish them. She became much sicker and the rash spead. The doctor gave her an injection of antibiotics and she still got worse. Her lymph nodes in her arm pits were greatly enlarged and painful. The second doctor decided it was folliculitus. Five days later she was she could barely get out of bed. We saw a dermatologist who diagnosed a severe staph infection. He gave her another injection and oral antibiotics. She had trouble breathing that evening and we were sent to the ER where they told us she was having an allergic reaction to the bacteria causing the infection. She benadryl, and inhaler, an epi pen, pepcid and prednisone. This was one week ago. S She is still not better. The lymph nodes are still enormous, and the rash is still there. We have been fighting this for almost a month with no relief. She is miserable, any ideas?
