                        Sorry to hear about all your health problems.  I am basically in the same boat as you.  I too have fibro and have had it since 96'. However I do not have diabetes.  I also have interstitial cystitis and thyroid disease.  These are all considered autoimmune diseases.  Because of the burning, tingling and numbness in my extremities my neurologist insisted I get an MRI of the brain.  And interesting enough I have, what the doctor called "bright spots".  I don't know if leisons and "bright spots" are the same but I would made a bet that they are.  My doctor did not think I have MS because of my age, 55, but in the radiological report that I received stated that I may have MS.  I understand the only way possible to detect whether it is indeed MS, would be to do a spinal tap.  I don't intend to have that done unless my symptoms worsen.  I take Xanax at night to help me sleep and occasionally Melatonin from the health food store.  I also started on Elevil, an antidepressant.  I have only been on this drug for less than two weeks so I am not posisitive that it helps.  But I can say that in the last two weeks I am sleeping better, and do not feel as fatigues.  Aand oddly enough my pain thus far has lessened by atleast 25%.  You may want to go to the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins.  I am entering the Shands Hospital on Friday in hopes that the doctors there can decide exactly what I have and what medications are best for my conditions.  I have not gotten much satisfaction from my doctors here in Orlando Florida.  I wish you good health and good luck.  J.W.
