I live in Chennai in India. My son aged 9 has been urinating blood the last 1.5 years. There have been three occurances in the last 1.5 years. We have taken him to a pediatric nephrologist who has said after a series of tests, 24 hour urine test, blood tests, ultra sound scans etc. that there seems to be nothing wrong with him. The RBC in urine has occured again and it is always gross when we notice it. When I said that bleeding has occured three time I mean that there was gross hematuria visible to the naked eye. My son is extremely hyperactive. I will soon be takimg to a specialist in Chennai over the next two days. He has no pain, fever, headache, frequent urination or any other symptom which would give us a lead. It seems to be a mystery. BUT we do feel he must get the benefit of a specialist. AND we are lucky that Drs here would never say he has pissed blood for all this time so why cannot he not wait. This Dr who said this is a disgrace to his profession.
