any child with DVT needs to have a coagulation profile to determine his hypercoaguable problem. This is very serious and not all Dr.'s are well informed in the area of coagulation defects. St. Louis University Hospital has a large coagulation specialty area. Another good name is Dr. Trippett at Ball State U in Indiana. This could be a byproduct of the pneumonia infection but you need to rule out a lot of other defects that can lead to lifelong and life -threatening problems. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
