                        I have seen depression due to hypothyroidism treated with an anti-depressant.  I am sure your doctor will be checking  your thyroid status if you advise him of what you have observed.  The case I have in mind could not convert T4 to T3 so medication with thyroxine , which is usually the first choice , was changed to tri-iodothyronine(T3)Result, no depression, and no need for anti-depressant.
