I just successfully weaned my baby last week after 18 months. This was my fourth. The best way I have found was to go cold turkey. I was already down to nursing at nap time and again and bedtime. The problem was that he would wake in the night looking for me for a pacifier. I just picked a day when I had a "decent" nights sleep the night before and filled a bottle with soy milk and a cup with water. He pretty much cried most of the night, but by the third night, he was sleeping through. He will still look for nursing occasionally, but he's happy with the cup. Good luck. Dawn
