I have had rls since I was a young adult and I'm 60 now. I found the best thing to do is leave off caffeine after noon and leave off sugars after noon. At work, I would just get up and walk around for a while. I think you're stressed out because of it and that affects your thinking (example: the plug you mentioned). Good luck.
