I know where you are coming from. I've been suffering from tinnitus for about 6 months now--due to exposure from loud noise (music). It has been very debilitating, and has caused a lot of sadness for me because it is so permanent! I've been to a very credited and highly acclaimed ear specialist, and basically he said that most tinnitus is irreversible. However, he said I had up to 9 months before I should deem it as "permanent." He said that in some cases, people's bodies can adjust to the tinnitus, in effect, making it go away. I still don't get my hopes up though, although anything is possible. I just have a problem with the notion that anything in life is "forever!" But tinnitus seems to be making a case against that notion.
