Hello there, just thought I would mention, the toung in some or most people with this disability have a larger toung, some portrude from the mouth, or the mouth structure is not quite right. As for the swallowing difficulties, having dystonia myself I have alot of those clicking sounds when I try like heck to swollow something, the muscles are weak, and I look like an ostrage when I take each and every swallow . . . it is similar to my sons ability to chew things up properly and swallow. Hope this helps some. Robin
