If it were me, I would contact Family Services and they would investigate what type of services he needs and make recommendations to the Judge. Also contact Social Security to learn what he might be entitled to. But he is apparently going to need a court-appointed Guardian, whether it is a familmy member or court appoited non- family member. There are State homes for people who cannot adequately care for themselves, also. Begin with a Family Services and let them advise you. I was a Guardian Ad Litem for 5 years, and saw cases like this. The Executor of the mother's estate is governed by his Mother's Will, and if she didn't make provisions, then another family member can intervene and get the Court System involved through Family Services. They will investigate his needs and any family member's ability to help. Good luck---these circustances are always painful for all.
