I spent 1 month in the hospital with the same symptoms...and contracted a staph infection on top of it all and ended up on IV antibiotics. After recovering, I had about 6 veins stripped from my right leg. The pain and problems have been much less for 2 years now. But the surgery is painful in recovery. You're right...Jobst stockings and elevation during the day help alot. I also take an aspirin a day to prevent the clotting.
