Peggy
My husband has been diagnosed with this syndrome. He has multible pulmonary emboli and has severe pulmonary hypertension. Please have your doctors check with Rheumotologist and experts in the field for treatment. This is very rare in men, much more common is women, usually secondary to Lupus, but as in my husband's case it is primary. Usual treatment is medication by blood thinners (Coumadin) and frequently testing of PT's, PTT's and INR. Ochsner physicians (Dr. Kasmier and Dr. McFadden) diagnosed my husband. These doctors are located in New Orleans, LA. I have heard from my husband's rheumatologist, Dr. Lindsey, Baton Rouge Ochsner Clinic, that there is a antiphospholipid antibody syndrome specialist at the John Hopkins Hospital. I haven't had time to check this out nor have we heard back from Dr. Lindsey. Good Luck and God Bless!
