First of all, do not be embarrased to seek medical assistance. Physicians and nurses are not going to humiliate you because of your condition. There are many medications available today to assist a person with urinary incontinence. There are also exercises you can do to strengthen the muscles to assist you in more control. Since the change is sudden and associated with a fall, please seek medical advice. It is quite possible you have an injury. Even if you don't, urinary incontinence at your age is unusual. I am an RN and have seen many patients with urinary incontinence. The medical profession does not snicker behind the backs of patients. We may laugh with you but never at you. You have a legitimate concern that should not be ignored. By the way, if your sister acted out of meanness, she should be ashamed of herself. I would hope she was trying to bring levity to a difficult situation for you. Please take care of your health and good luck.
