My ten month-old daughter recently had a ct scan that showed that she has hydrocephalus but no brain damage or developmental delays. I have yet to learn anything more about the where or how or why. I am basically looking for what i can expect if she has a shunt put in. Will she regress; will she have any problems neurologically from the surgery; any thing that anyone can give me for information will help. she has no symptoms at all other than a large head but even that is not too far off. She is very easy going , intelligent, and active now. Will this change?
