I am a 28 year old woman, very active and healthy. Jog three times a week. Eat very well. Rant and rave about the importance of good health. And on 29 Jan noticed my left arm swelling, and distended veins. Admitted to hospital one week later. 6 days of heparin at 1.2ml/hour then 3 shots of some other drug starting with letter "t" and now on 5mg of warfarin for 6 months. My arm is not as swollen, but it has not returned to normal. I am told the treatment is long and slow. The doctor said the warfarin keeps my blood thin allowing body to adjust. May eat away at clot, like "pac man" (doctors words, not mine!) and by-pass clot altogether. I notice continued surface veins on my chest and veins along arm still visible. But arm no longer feels heavy and swollen. Wonder if I will return to normal one day????? My father told me to meditate on the colour green (heart chakra)......
