Hi, I had this problem and couldn't walk for a year, had a cast, was on crutches, severe pain and totally miserable until I was fitted for a shoe insert prosthesis which supported my arch and after a little adjustment, all pain disappeared and I have not had any problems since. Hope this helps you.
