no it will not go away, if your tsh was abnormal, elevated, it means your thyroid isn't functioning properly. i have had hypothroidism for over 3 years now, its easy to live with as long as you take your medication daily and have your labs monitored as your physician wants, he will adjust your meds as needed. if you were just recently diagnosed he will retest you soon. it is very important to take your medicine. the flu may have played a part in it, but once the flu is gone you will still have a thyroid disorder. mine was caused by pregnancy. good luck
