Judy
Hi! I'm NOT a doctor, but I am a young mother and arecently diagnosed patient with long qt syndrome. I now have a cardiac defibrillator and heart medication. I'm in the process of getting my children and siblings checked for this disorder that is often genetic. If your child has been fainting, I would not hestitate for a minute, but to get to your pediatrician, neurologist, cardiologist and electrophysiologist soon and tell him/her your suspicions. You may even want to print out what you have learned on the Internet about this syndrome. Fainting episodes (syncope) are one sign of this disorder. Though the disorder is potentially life-threatening, it can be treated. I would not take a chance if it was my child's life, and there is family history. I don't mean to scare you, or cause you to be afraid. I wish you and your child well and will be praying for you both that all is well. Judy
