I only suspect that I have pernicious anemia. My blood tests have shown that I have no intrinsic factor, but doubt that this has been inherited, as no one in my family ever had any of the symptoms I have. I have numbness in my feet, difficulty walking and fall down a lot, I am 60 years old, and my symptoms started about 5 years ago. I inject 1 cc of liquid B12 and 1/2 cc of Folic acid at least once/month Additional symptoms: extreme sensitivity to touch, especially in the centre of my body, lack of balance, weakness in the legs, tingling in my arms and hands (this is recent). My doctor has no explanation for my symptoms - have been diagnosed by a neurologist as having "a weird form of MS).....I now walk with a cane. Have I really got PA, or could I have something else? I also suffer from Osteo Arthritis, expecially in the knees. Would like to hear from someone about this. Fran
