I have just been diagnosed with osteomyelitis. Nothing could be cultured from bone or tissue biopsy. So far I have had 5 operations - two teeth removed - and have been treated by 3 dental specialists. Over the past five years no one could diagnose the problem. An old root canal (20 years ago) may have been the source of the original infection. I am on pencillin vk 300mg novo for the next six months. In the near future I shall probably undergo move surgery to remove the dead bone and I shall also be treated in a hypobaric chamber. I have been told this is very rare - and very hard to diagnose.
