In response to being at risk as a spouse of someone with Hepatitis C, I have Hep C and and have been told that the most common way it has been transfered to spouses is from the sharing of tooth brushes and razors or finger nail clippers. There is also a chance it can be shared through sex. Transfered through sexual activity was at a minimum if the couple is having "I Love you " type sex. No blood or that sort of stuff. That was what my Doctor told me.
