Sheila... I have had 3 surgeries due to complex mass's on my ovaries. Two were dermoid cysts approx the size of an orange. Last September of 2000, I had my third surgery for a complex cysts/mass which ended up being fluid in nature. I thought that after my ovaries were removed, that the problem would go away, but just two days ago, I was diagnosed with another complex mass between my bladder and rectum. I guess I am much like you.. concerned about the potential outcome and what I am supposed to do to stop this cycle. After 3 surgeries, my doctors felt I should never be bothered with them again as they thought the ovarian tissue being removed would solve the problem. It hasn't unfortunately. Find a doctor you trust. Get to know what causes the cysts and how your body responds when something isn't right. I have made it through this ordeal, and I will make it through the upcoming problem whether it is surgery again, or whatever else they may try.
